amantabhadra Bodhisattva on Elephant – Resin Statue, Symbol of Vows and Practice
This resin statue shows a figure riding on a white elephant, a powerful symbol in Buddhist art. The elephant with six tusks is the traditional mount of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (Puxian in Chinese, Fugen in Japanese), who represents vows, great conduct, and the practice of the bodhisattva path.
In the Avataṃsaka Sūtra, Samantabhadra makes ten great vows that guide bodhisattvas in their dedication to beings. The elephant beneath him symbolizes the strength, patience, and steadiness needed to carry the Dharma into the world. Placing this statue in your home or shrine is a reminder to embody vows with determination and compassion.
